Mobile Planetarium Camp which conducts by the National Planetarium was organized at Mahalakotuwa school. It was going on two days. The rare videos about planets, mobile planetarium balloon and the live night camp included that 2 day schedule. This was the novel experience for children in Mahalakotuwa. The organizing committee has invited the schools in near by Mahalakotuwa to get this valuable experience to their lives.
The students in Mahalakotuwa who live in a very remote area have minimum facilities to discover and gather knowledge on sky. Considering all the above facts the school administration decided to organize such a camp in the school.
The incharge of the Planetarium Mr.I.J.C.Fernando and five technical officers gave their maximum possible dedicated service to make this camp a success. We take this opportunity to pay our tribute to them. further more we give our heartiest thanks to Mr.Ranga Dayananda (attorney at low) for his kind co-ordination.
